It’s claimed Phil Spencer has already reassured employees.
Rumours this week have led to claims Xbox could completely exit the hardware side of the video game business, and naturally, it’s raised concerns amongst fans. It was believed employees of Microsoft’s gaming division might have also been left in the dark at one point, but it seems not based on the latest update.
According to journalist Shannon Liao, Xbox’s team held an “internal Tuesday townhall” where Microsoft’s Gaming CEO Phil Spencer informed employees there are “no plans” to abandon consoles. Hardware and Xbox will apparently remain “part of a strategy” with “multiple kinds of devices” going forward, according to Liao. Here’s exactly what she had to say:
