Iman Vellani brought Kamala Khan to life in Marvel Studios’ Ms. Marvel, debuting as part of Phase 4, and is set to have a very bright future in the MCU, next appearing in The Marvels. Following Kamala Khan’s debut in Marvel Comics’ 2014 series Ms. Marvel, plans were put into place to explore the character in the live-action MCU. This was confirmed by Kevin Feige in 2018, who noted that Ms. Marvel would make her MCU debut following the release of 2019’s Captain Marvel, and a series was later announced to be in development for the Marvel Studios branch of Disney+. In September 2020, Vellani was cast in the titular role – her first acting credit.
