After he received brief appearances in the MCU’s Infinity Saga, Marvel Studios seems to be hinting at a much larger role for Wong in the MCU’s future. Benedict Wong debuted as Wong in 2016’s Doctor Strange, initially depicted as the librarian at Kamar-Taj when Stephen Strange begins to train as a Master of the Mystic Arts. After the Ancient One’s death, Wong saw his role elevated, helping Strange to protect the New York Sanctum and being key in explaining the history of the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Infinity War. The MCU’s Multiverse Saga has developed Wong even further, as he is now the Sorcerer Supreme in the MCU.
