Rick and Morty season 7 has been a massive disappointment compared to the show’s previous seasons, and every episode so far has suffered from the same problem. Season 7 is the first season of Rick and Morty not to feature series co-creator Justin Roiland as the voice of the lead characters. After Roiland was fired from the show following a series of disturbing allegations, Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden replaced him in the roles of Rick and Morty, respectively. Despite being nearly indistinguishable soundalikes, Cardoni and Belden sound a little off as Rick and Morty. But season 7’s problems go a lot deeper than just different-sounding characters.
