The chainsaw man has long been one of the most iconic enemies in the Resident Evil series, and he’s just as intimidating a presence as ever in the Resident Evil 4 remake. If you didn’t play the original, you may be wondering whether you can kill the chainsaw man at all in the demo. You can, but it takes almost all the firepower you can find in the village to do it.
How to Kill the Chainsaw Man in the Resident Evil 4 Demo
If you played the original game, chances are you’ve killed this guy before and you’re about to do it again and again. If this is your first time really giving Resident Evil 4 a go, this enemy will be far more intimidating for you because you’re going to have to do some busywork before it’s even possible.
When you enter the village at the start of the Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw Demo, your first priority should be seeking out loot. You’re going to want all the ammo and grenades you can get, and you are going to need the shotgun.
Look around the village grabbing everything you can, and take solace in the grenades and shotgun ammo you pick up because you’re going to need them. Don’t be afraid to skirt around enemies, and even keep looking for grenades and ammo after the chainsaw man spawns if you can keep your distance from him.

You should be able to find up to three grenades in the village, try to hit him with all three. Even if you only find two, you can make up for the difference in shotgun shots. You will almost certainly have to resort to shooting him with your pistol a few times to finish him off.
Through his chasing you, just make space when you can by running back a bit and then turning around to unload on him. You’ll want to be aware of the locations of other enemies in the area as well, though hopefully you’ve cleared a few out before the chainsaw man even spawns. This process takes far less time with three grenades instead of two, but it’s stressful no matter what you have on you.
It might take a few minutes, but if you’re careful and make sure that you do hit him with your two or three grenades, you should kill the chainsaw man with relative ease.
