Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask DLC is a breezy new addition to the Gen 9 games, taking trainers to the land of Kitakami for a folklore-inspired tale about a mysterious ogre and the island’s three protectors. Pokémon is, overall, a critic-proof franchise, and anyone who enjoyed the base games will enjoy the DLC. However, anyone who found the performance issues too distracting, or felt let down by Scarlet and Violet‘s mechanics, won’t be won over by what Teal Mask offers either. Regardless, the Teal Mask DLC is a fun foray into a new area – and its storytelling and characters are really where it shines.
