Evil Dead Rise used so much stage blood that they had to go to great lengths in order to get it all made. The film, which is set to release in theaters on April 21, is the fifth film in the franchise following the various ways Candarian demons possess and mutilate human beings. This particular story, from writer-director Lee Cronin, is largely unrelated to the rest of the franchise, following a family whose Los Angeles apartment becomes a charnel house when the full power of the Book of the Dead is unleashed and a single mother becomes possessed.
