Diablo 4 has numerous sidequests that you can do. Some are provided by NPCs in towns or hamlets, while others are discovered as you explore the game world. One of these is called Secret of the Spring, which presents you with a riddle. And if you’re here, you’re wondering how to solve it.
How to Solve the Riddle in Secret of the Spring
The Diablo 4 Secret of the Spring sidequest can be started by reading a note found in a cliffside work area north of Kyovashad. Go north of the city until you see a narrow path that leads to the Forsaken Quarry dungeon.
The note is in the area overlooking the entrance to the dungeon itself. We’ve marked it with a star on the image below.

When you interact with the note, you’ll read a riddle that says:
Beacon of warmth in winter’s embrace, patience rewarded by nature’s own grace.
This will allow the Secret of the Spring quest to be tracked in your journal. From there, head to the marked location. Upon arriving, you’ll see a quaint spring.
To solve the Diablo 4 Secret of the Spring riddle, you’ll want to think of the keyword: patience. That means using the “Wait” emote. Go ahead and open your action wheel (hold “E” on your keyboard).
When you switch to the emotes wheel, you’ll notice that the “Wait” command isn’t there. Don’t worry. If you click on the Customize option, you should see it among the list of other emotes.

Equip the “Wait” emote on the action wheel and use it. This will cause a chest to magically appear near you.
