Batman Ninja 2 Announced, Title Revealed for Anime Sequel

Warner Bros. Japan has announced a sequel to Batman Ninja is in the works.

Announced in a press release, Warner Bros. Japan is currently developing a sequel to 2018’s Batman Ninja, which will be titled Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League.

What do we know about Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League?

Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League is directed by Jumpei Mizusaki and Shinji Takagi. The screenplay was written by Kazuki Nakashima, while the character design was provided by Takashi Okazaki. The music comes from Yugo Kanno.

Koichi Yamadera is returning to voice Batman in the film. Plot details remain under wraps at this time. Further news will be announced at the Anime Expo 2024 in Los Angeles this July.

Batman Ninja was released in the United States in April 2018. Directed by Mizusaki, the film’s voice cast includes Yamadera as Batman, Wataru Takagi as The Joker, Ai Kakuma as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Rie Kugimiya as Harley Quinn, Hōchū Ōtsuka as Alfred Pennyworth, Takehito Koyasu as Gorilla Grodd, Daisuke Ono as Dick Grayson/Nightwing, Yūki Kaji as Damian Wayne/Robin, Akira Ishida as Jason Todd/Red Hood, Kengo Kawanishi as Tim Drake/Red Robin, Junichi Suwabe as Deathstroke, Atsuko Tanaka as Poison Ivy, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Two-Face, Chō as The Penguin, and Kenta Miyake as Bane.

The English dub voice cast, meanwhile, includes Roger Craig Smith as Batman, Tony Hale as The Joker, Grey Griffin as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Tara Strong as Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, Adam Croasdell as Alfred Pennyworth and Dick Grayson/Nightwing, Fred Tatsciore as Gorilla Grodd and Deathstroke, Yuri Lowenthal as Damian Wayne/Robin and Jason Todd/Red Hodd, Will Friedle as Tim Drake/Red Robin, Eric Bauza as Two-Face, Tom Kenny as The Penguin, and Miyake as Bane.

“Batman, along with his allies and adversaries, finds himself transported from modern Gotham City to feudal Japan,” a description of the film reads.

A release date for Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League has not yet been announced. Batman Ninja is currently available to rent or purchase on Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and more digital streaming services.
