The zombie shooter 7 Days to Die will soon be released as version 1.0 and already shows a roadmap with planned content until the end of 2025
Good things take time – a well-known motto that the team behind the survival shooter 7 Days to Die is obviously taking to heart. Because the zombie game has been in Early Access for a whopping eleven years. But now the end is in sight!
The final release in the form of version 1.0 will take place in June 2024 The team recently announced this in a new developer video, which you can watch in full length here:
Version 1.0 will be a big leap forward compared to the current version. Among other things, fans can expect completely overhauled vehicles, a new challenge system, prettier graphic effects and more variation in zombies.
Content already planned until the end of 2025
One thing in advance: An exact release date has not yet been set. In the video, the developers only talk roughly about May (experimental launch) or June (official launch)
What the team does reveal a lot about, however, is the time after the release. New content is already planned up to and including Q4/2025.
The roadmap already reveals details:
July 2024: The final version 1.0 of the Xbox and PlayStation editions will also be released.
4th quarter 2024: Storms Brewing will include a revised weather system, a wardrobe function and cross-play between the old (Xbox One/PS4) and current console generation.
2nd quarter 2025: A New Threat implements bandits, overhauls the user interface and launches a new event system.
4th quarter 2025: The Road Ahead will deliver a story mode, a new quest type and support for the Steam Workshop.
Price increase for release
Lots of good news up to this point. But now comes a small damper for all those who want to wait until the release before making a purchase decision: 7 Days to Die will also become significantly more expensive with the end of Early Access.
At the moment, Early Access costs around 23 euros. From June, the price will then rise to 45 US dollars, which will most likely result in a 1:1 conversion to 45 euros in this country.
7 Days to Die will soon be almost twice as expensive as before From April 22 to April 29, the zombie shooter will be reduced by a whopping 76 percent on Steam for one last time So if the gameplay above appeals to you, this could be your chance to get away even cheaper.
The Steam reviews definitely make you sit up and take notice: Because over the past eleven years, more than 210,000 user reviews have accumulated. Despite this enormous number of opinions, 7 Days to Die comes to a very positive overall conclusion, with 88 percent of all reviews being favorable.
So if you like survival gameplay and zombies but have never played 7 Days to Die before, now might be the right time.
